For this project, I drew inspiration from vintage chronographs, with their pure lines and elegant, slender pushers.
I wanted to recapture those balanced proportions, hence the 40 mm case, the ideal size to house a chronograph calibre without compromising wrist harmony.
The dial features a bi-compax layout, with two counters at 3 and 9 o’clock, a nod to the iconic chronographs of the past and their renowned readability.
The main challenge with this type of movement lies in its height. I therefore worked on the balance of volumes to achieve a watch that feels visually slim and comfortable to wear.
Rather than accentuating the case back, I chose to balance the profile with two “box” sapphire crystals, domed on both sides.
This design pays homage to the aesthetics of vintage watches while revealing the beautiful mechanics, especially the oscillating mass, visible even from the side.
