The Ninth Project | Ten Years | A Chronograph
GENESIS
There are objects that mark a lifetime. For Thierry Clottu, it was a chronograph received at the age of twenty, with an open caseback revealing its mechanism. An object that started it all.
Ten years after the creation of DONE, with eight projects to its name, the time had come to return to this origin and finally design its own chronograph.
NINE IN TEN: the ninth project for the brand's tenth anniversary
DESIGN
INSPIRATION
Some chronographs aren't explained, they're experienced. Clean lines, slender pushers, proportions that speak for themselves. This is where the NINE IN TEN was born.
With a contained 40 mm diameter, the chronograph calibre fits in with ease, and the wrist almost forgets it's there.

DIAL
The bi-compax configuration is a natural choice: two subdials, at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. A balance inherited from the iconic chronographs of the era, where legibility was not a compromise but a given.
Design
DELICACY
Creating a project with a chronograph caliber is an aesthetic challenge in itself due to the height of the movement. One could opt for a thicker case, but the result isn't very flattering. The choice was then made to use two box-type sapphire crystals, domed on the front and back, to redistribute volumes and visually lighten the profile.

Design
Rotor
Redesigned to blend in with the aesthetic of the movement, it is a central element in reading the watch's reverse. With the NINE IN TEN, the rotor is revealed, even in profile, through a sapphire crystal that follows its curve. The entire movement is offered to the eye, unfiltered.
DAY AND NIGHT
Featuring Superluminova® BGW9 "Grade A" on the flange and hands, time readability remains perfect, even in the dark.
SWISS MECHANICAL EXCELLENCE
THE MOVEMENT
Based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, La Joux-Perret develops and manufactures mechanical movements for some of the most demanding watchmaking houses in the world. A manufacture renowned for the precision of its movements and the care taken with each finish.
For the NINE IN TEN, the L111 caliber was chosen: a bi-compax 3h-9h chronograph with a 30-minute counter and date at 6h. The result of a collaborative effort with La Joux-Perret, this caliber has been completely rethought in a semi-skeletonized version designed to reveal the mechanics and highlight the date function.
Anthracite and ruthenium finishes, Geneva stripes, skeletonized date disc, DONE-signed oscillating weight.
In the foreground: the column wheel, the silent architect of every chronograph trigger.
CERTIFICATION COSC
PRECISION MEASURED, DOCUMENTED, CERTIFIED
The NINE IN TEN is officially certified Chronometer by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres.
An independent organisation founded in 1973, the COSC tests each movement individually according to ISO 3159. The trials run for 16 consecutive days, in five positions and at three different temperatures: 8°, 23° and 38°. Only movements displaying a mean daily rate between -4 and +6 seconds per day achieve certification.
Each certified watch receives its own individual rate certificate. An individual attestation, not a batch test.
A certified chronometer is a watch whose precision has been measured, documented and validated by an independent third party. Not a promise. Proof.

OUR WORKSHOPS
Each NINE IN TEN goes through the hands of Pivodax SA, our watchmaking partner based in Dombresson, in the canton of Neuchâtel.
Specialized in the watchmaking industry for over 40 years, Pivodax handles the jewelling, fitting, movement assembly, and final casing.
Each watch is assembled, inspected, and individually checked before being delivered.
It is this rigor, carried out by expert hands a few kilometers from Cormondrèche, that allows us to offer a 2-year international guarantee.

40 mm in diameter, 14.20 mm in overall height, including 9.25 mm for the case alone, excluding crystals.
Each dimension is the result of a precise trade-off between the constraints of the chronograph caliber and the visual balance on the wrist.
